ACTSA welcomes new director

04/12/2025

ACTSA trustees are very pleased to announce that Rachel Palma Randle has been appointed as ACTSA’s Director. Rachel will take ACTSA forward in delivering across our key focus areas with partners, including gender justice work, arising from our strategy review and consultation in early 2025.

Tricia Sibbons has moved to Johannesburg and after a period of handing over to Rachel and concluding work on the Kabwe lead mine campaign, she will be working in the region on other projects.  We are grateful to Tricia for the last four years for her work on organisational development, leading our campaigns and for refreshing ACTSA’s strategic vision.

Rachel Palma Randle has worked in UK/British politics for the last 20 years. As both a campaigner and an elected official she has run winning campaigns at all levels. Rachel has been a community campaigner working across UK devolved nations and in Brussels promoting local government and championing devolution and community activism.

Rachel set up RPR Communications in 2018, specifically to provide training and mentoring support to empower women and under-represented groups. She worked with organisations across Europe and Africa focusing on campaign planning, fundraising, and leadership skills. Her experience includes working alongside black women to amplify their voices.

More recently, working with Defend Democracy (pro bono), Rachel has explored new methods with volunteers to drive movement building and has a track record of working with membership organisations seeking to make a big difference. She currently serves as a Board member of Scottish feminist charity, Engender.
