With more than 50 years of history dating back to the British Anti-Apartheid Movement (AAM) era, invite real life former anti-apartheid campaigners and activists to share their direct experience and insights into the largest international solidarity campaign ever mounted in Britain. This included the iconic 1988 ‘Free Mandela’ concert in Wembley and an historic boycott campaign in which hundreds of thousands of people boycotted goods from apartheid South Africa. The AAM was a broad social movement that included political parties, trade unions, churches, students and ordinary individuals. The Movement produced some of the finest activists and campaigners to ever influence decision makers to action. Their efforts helped to bring the apartheid rule in South Africa and its destructive influence in the wider Southern African region to an end.
Many of these activist and campaigners remain ACTSA members till this day. Much of their firsthand experience, knowledge, collective energy and unity of purpose; their inspired commitment and their perseverance in pursuit of positive change are all sorely needed today, and they can share all of it with your audience at your next event!
