All Shall Be Afford Dignity, the exhibition of Norman Kaplan’s work, continues in York in March 2026. Join us at Thin Ice Press, The Old School House, Peasholme Green, York YO1 7PW between 6 March and 30 April.
All welcome to the launch event on Friday 6 March at 17:30 though please register here.
This is a travelling exhibition co-produced by the Anti-Apartheid Legacy: Centre of Memory & Learning, ACTSA and the Anti-Apartheid Movement Archives, this York iteration reflects on the journey to democracy in South Africa and the struggle against apartheid, affirming the fundamental human right to dignity for all.
Featuring Norman Kaplan’s striking linocuts and political cartoons – created across apartheid-era South Africa, exile in the UK, and post-liberation democracy – the exhibition also includes materials from the Borthwick Institute for Archives University of York, highlighting the region’s rich anti-apartheid heritage and solidarity.
